Assessing biocontrol efficacy of atoxigenic Aspergillus flavus strains against aflatoxins contamination in maize produced in Bangladesh
- Quantify the severity of pre-harvest aflatoxin contamination in the major growing areas of Bangladesh in early and late seasons in order to assess the contamination risk and need for pre-harvest mitigation strategies in different regions.
- Characterize genetically the most common atoxigenic genotypes of Aspergillus flaves using simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers and a multiplex PCR method that identified deletions in the aflatoxin biosynthesis gene cluster.
- Evaluate the efficacy of the atoxigenic Aspergillus flavus strains as biocontrol product (s) in reducing aflatoxin contamination under field condition.
Development of Citrus Greening Resistant/Tolerant Sweet Orange and Mandarin Cultivars for Ensuring Nutritional Security
- To identify the potential root stocks for the development of HLB resistant /tolerant sweet orange and mandarin cultivars
- To assess the performance of the selected sweet orange and mandarin cultivars against HLB under artificial inoculation condition
- To evaluate the yield and quality performance of the selected sweet orange and mandarin cultivars against HLB under natural field condition
